Edisto Island Art Guild Exhibit - June 9th – Sept. 5th. Come see a wide variety of artwork created by some of Edisto Island’s most talented artists. The exhibit includes paintings as well as pottery and woodcuts, and much of the pieces are for sale.

EIHPS Lecture “The Gullah Language: History and Evolution of a Creole Language”, by Sharon Cooper-Murray. 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 22nd, at the New First Missionary Baptist Church’s historic sanctuary (1644 Highway 174). Free and open to the public. This will be a fun filled and informative evening including storytelling and singing in the Gullah tradition, with audience participation, and is appropriate for adults and children alike. The presentation is sponsored in part by the Humanities Council SC.

 
2015 Edisto & Beyond Tour – Saturday, October 10th. Tickets to this popular event will go on sale to members only on July 7th. If any tickets remain, they will go on sale to the public on August 4th. Featured properties include: Middleton Plantation, the Wilkinson-Boineau House (Adam’s Run), Quantico Beach House, Roxbury Park, Sunny Side Plantation Foreman’s House, Christ Church (Adam’s Run), Trinity Church, Old First Baptist Church, the Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island and Zion Reformed Episcopal Church. Tickets are $45 each and are non-refundable.
