 EIHPS 2015 Lecture Series #1 – The Cultivation of Carolina Rice by Dr. Richard Porcher - Tuesday, March 31st at 7:00 p.m.  This lecture will be given at the New First Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1644 Highway 174.  It is open to the public and there is no admission fee.

Art Beyond the Edisto & Beyond Tour – Tuesday, March 3rd – Saturday, May 30th.  This exhibit will feature original art by our former Edisto & Beyond Tour artists.  Each artist will have 2-4 pieces of their work and all of them will be for sale.  This is the first time ever collective exhibit by these incredibly talented artists.

Hoedown for History…Dancing in Denim -  Saturday, April 11th, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Sunny Side Plantation.  Join us for a rollicking good time dancing under the stars to the music of the Blue Plantation Band and enjoying wonderful food and drinks.  You will be able to purchase a variety of items, including trips, special Edisto Island sign-up events and raffle tickets ($10 each) for three wonderful prizes. Proceeds from this event will help support our preservation projects.

At the Hoedown, you will be able to sign up to purchase 5 wonderful trips (to Los Cabos, Napa Wine Valley, New York City, New Orleans and a stay at any of the beautiful Fairmont Hotels in the United States and Canada). You can also sign up to participate in some fun and elegant events closer to home, including a gourmet Lunch on the Grounds at the historic Seabrook Plantation. There will also be an evening event featuring wine and food pairings in a lovely home overlooking Sandy Creek, a private guided tour of the beautiful Roxbury Park with a naturalist followed by a picnic lunch, a holiday cooking class and an elegant seafood dinner in a private home.

Reservations can be made beginning on March 1st  and are $60 per person if purchased by March 31st. After that date, reservations will be $65 per person. No phone orders please. To make reservations, click here.

In conjunction wit this event, we will also be having a raffle drawing for three wonderful prizes. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at the event, in our gift shop or on our website. The drawing will be at the Hoe Down and you do not have to be present to win. Prizes are 4 tickets to the Edisto Island Open Land Trust Oyster Road (Nov. 15th), 4 tickets to the Edisto & Beyond Tour (Oct. 10th) and 4 “Be My Guest” Certificates at any Doubletree Inn worldwide (double room including taxes). There is no limit on the number of raffle tickets you can purchase.

2015 Edisto & Beyond Tour – Saturday, October 10th.  Tickets to this popular event will go on sale to members only on July 7th.  If any tickets remain, they will go on sale to the public on August 4th. Featured properties include: Middleton Plantation, the Wilkinson-Boineau House (Adam’s Run), Quantico Beach House, Roxbury Park, Sunny Side Plantation Foreman’s House, Christ Church (Adam’s Run), Trinity Church, Old First Baptist Church, the Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island and Zion Reformed Episcopal Church. Tickets are $45 each and are non-refundable.
