Oral Histories of Edisto

The collection of oral histories capturing the history and sea island culture of Edisto Island, South Carolina, stems from three different periods. The most recent ones were recorded in 2022, and others date from 2016 and much earlier, as far back as the 1990s. The purpose of the interviews was to gather impressions of Edisto’s unique way of life from a variety of perspectives.
